My goal is simple, and that is to continue to provide the best care in our community so you can work and feel secure that your child is well taken care of. Being a parent myself, I understand a parent's fierce love and loyalty to their child. I am committed to giving all the children the best care I possibly can. I believe that an exemplary child care facility must go beyond the physical, mental, social and educational needs of each child - it must also provide peace of mind to the parent(s). I want each child to enjoy being in my care, to grow strong in body and have the opportunity to learn in all areas of development - socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. I understand the day to day responsibilities facing parents and I know that these responsibilities cannot be mastered without the utmost confidence of the parent in their choice of a child care center. |

My daycare is designed with fun learning in mind. I have an interesting and useful curriculum for all the children. I consider my child care facility as a learning center, not just a babysitting service. I offer a lightly structured daily routine with interesting activities, including both quiet and active times, as children need a balance of both. I encourage children to use their imagination and have fun while learning. With each month's curriculum, we work with basics such as colors, shapes, opposites, numbers and letters plus I offer a variety of daily activities such as arts & crafts, drawing, puzzles, stories, songs & dance, play-dough, computer access (preschool & other educational software that develops reading, math and language skills and encourages good motor development), flash cards, indoor and outdoor games. I want to develop the "whole child" rather than just supervise free play. I also, on occasion, do special activities which include fieldtrips (pumpkin patch, sheep farm, bird sanctuary) and Christmas parties, etc.

The curriculum I offer your child focuses not only on the development of social skills and basic learning skills, but also allows freedom of expression and provides an arena for artistic expression. My role in the children's lives is to offer maternal nurturing and care while at the same time establishing discipline, educational building blocks and social development - all in a safe, moral & healthy environment. It is my goal to empower the children to respect and value themselves and others. I provide a setting that encourages caring and cooperative relationships, and the children will benefit in learning how to interact with their peers. I want to make sure each child in my care feels loved and secure, as every child is unique and precious. I plan to accomplish this through physical and verbal expressions (i.e.: holding hands, hugs, sweetheart). I also maintain an on-going communication with the families to ensure that we all have a clear understanding of their child/children. ................................................ ...Roxene Walters |
